I am from a little village in the Surrey Hills, between Epsom and Reigate.

Who did you work for in London back in the day ?

 I did a stints with Smallbone, Peter Jones, Wilkinson, Moben MKD amongst others. I have done some famous people, a few footballers and authors
but my lips are sealed. Being a fitter to me is about people skills, the most interesting part of the job is understanding different folks modus operandi.

Looks like we took the same path in regards to company's. 
Mid 70's when you could say we were at the beining of the modern fitted furniture business.
I too installed for many famous people around Surrey / Sussex.
Nice to have a portfolio like that.
I'm now manufacturing and my sons do the installations along with others on board.
