Fitters mate/ trainee fitter ???

Hello all new to forum. Soon to be leaving the Royal Marines and hopfully in the next few months fitting my own kitchen. After completing a kitchen fitting course. I kno it's not an ideal route in but can't complete an apprenticeship now financially.

My question is given a basic knowledge is it at all common for professional KF to take blokes on as trainee or mate as electricians do?

The hardest part is finding someone who is willing to take someone on.  Then you will be paid peanuts, don't forget when you are ready to fly the nest you will be his direct competition.
