hiya, so pleased i have found this site. 

plan on fitting my own true handleless kitchen. i have fitted kitchens before but not of this particular design. i should add not to the extent of a professional but 6 - 7 kitchens for friends and family.

i have now had all the materials delivered and, barring a couple of electrical alterations, am about to start.

i  have had a couple of my concerns answered by reading various posts, chiefly setting the units further out and raising the height to accommodate removing appliances.
i had thought about these points but it is reassuring to have them verified by experienced fitters.

my only concern now, for the moment anyhow, is a matter of fixing cooker / coffee machine ete into the tower units. i  have read the correct way is by the use of some adapter/ block that attaches to unit and can then  secure the appliances. what i cant find is where can i obtain these blocks / fittings.

can anybody advise me where i can obtain some please.

Who is the supplier/manufacturer of the kitchen you have bought??

I would have thought that they should have supplied the inserts you need...?? If not, you would need to find out who the manufacturer of the Handless extrusion is as there are various different shapes & sizes out there.

This is the one that I use most of the time.

Does yours look the same as this?

This is the "Filler" and the jig/clamp to temporarily hold it in place whilst fixing the filler.

hiya, thanks for the reply. as i mentioned the electrician called tonight and ended up doing a couple of jobs i needed doing to allow me to get on. i ended up getting stuck in as well but am happy at how much we have got done.

after reading quite a lot of posts i only wish i had found this site earlier, i feel sure i may have sorted stuff out a lot quicker.

anyhow, my rails have come from a company called emuca. they were a lot cheaper than any other alternatives i could find. they do differ from the rail that you posted and yes i do have to modify the units.

i can see no such inserts listed on there website so i may have a bit of digging to do. they are made by gola so should be available somewhere.  this is the rail;





(sorry, havent worked out how to resize them yet and its getting late.).

Can you just clarify a couple of things for me Stuey..?

If I understand you correctly, you are planning on modifying standard size kitchen cabinets to accept the rebated True Handless system?

Who is the manufacturer of the cabinets?

Are they ready built cabinets or flatpack?

Are you buying your door & drawer fronts from a different manufacturer and are they made to measure to suit the True Handless system?

Do you have any Drawer Packs in the kitchen, and if so, how many drawers in each unit?

The question I have to ask you is,......Why didnt you just buy a True Handless kitchen in the first place rather than going through all this hassle to try and modify a standard kitchen?

I have just looked at the Emuca site you linked to showing all the different extrusions, brackets, internal & external corners & end caps.

The extrusion you posted a picture of is a Vertical handle that is designed to fit between 2 Tall cabinets, its not the correct extrusion for the Horizontal handle at the top of a Base unit cabinet, or an intermediate Horizontal handle between 2 drawer fronts. I assume you know this?

hello and thanks for the reply,

when we first planned to renovate our kitchen we had just thoughts about changing the doors ete to freshen it up. we looked about and seen our style, old drawer line style units although in good condition, , were somewhat dated. we saw this handlleless system and quite liked it. in short we have ended up with all new units and appliances along with the rails and are using Zurfiz doors and panels.

this has far exceeded our planned spend, were certainly not well off so i dont mind any extra time spent on it if it works in our favor.

 
to clarify the points you mention,

Yes i am modifying the cabinets. i have a table saw and other gear to do this.

yes they are flatpack units, cant remember the manufacturer till i get home.

the drawer fronts, doors and panels are coming from the same place i bought the units. (acrylic high gloss.) i am not ordering them till i am positive on the sizing.

yes we have drawers in the units. the drawers and rails have come from emuca.

why didnt i buy a true handleless kitchen in the first place? the simple answer is the expense. We cant afford it.

no doubt you are going to tell me its not much more expensive if you know where to go.


the inserts i mentioned are a problem. spent a hour looking so far and have not found any.

If it helps Multiwood do Gola rail profiles (though can't see one that looks exactly like that image). I do not know whether they are their's or bought in. They do an "appliance filler profile" which may be what you're after.

I think it would be helpful if you can get hold of a pdf of the Gola range and fixing methods - I think there's a lot to think about.

Welcome Stuey, everyone here will chip in to help you on this including myself if I can, but I think this is more hassle than its worth.

The detail on a handle less kitchen is actually very tricky to get right when striving for that overall clean look and I think you will find things will pop up that will take you by surprise and will ultimately compromise the final look.

Would love to see end images once its done and I'm very happy to be proven wrong
