Hi Guys,

Some of you will have had a look at my thread in the introduce yourself section "be great to say hello". For those that haven't I am a fitter with a patent on a new fixing - it would be soooo helpful if you would look at the attached and send me some feedback.

For those that have had a look the good news is my patent has been granted! Taken two years and about 10 grand but I've finally got a bit of paper!

The reason for this new thread is i'm desperate to find a location (and a film star if you're interested!) to shoot a promo video for it - I've just been let down and now cant find an alternative anywhere.

I'm down south in hampshire - the film is to pit 3 units with L brackets against 3 units with my fixing in a kind of time trial - so it doesnt have to be a kitchen and could use two fitters - Howdens have donated 6 nice new units and a have a company booked - any room minimum 15 foot by 15 foot - hard floor - at least 1 plain flat wall that can be drilled and repaired - preferably within an hour or 2 travelling of Southampton Not much to ask! Can pay something but there's only me and I'm pretty much spent out on this, but i'll find some money if i have too.

I forgot to congratulate you on the other thread for getting this patent approved.....fook knows you've spent enough dosh getting there so I really hope it works out for you.

I think I'm one of the few on here who thinks this is a good idea. As far as changing the habits of some fitters is concerned it could be difficult but if you can get the sheds to accept your idea and include two per fittings pack then it will work for you.

As Prem says, if these things were cheap enough to buy for, say 50, then it would be worth having a box of them on the van for the times when you need them to space base units off the wall when you are using oversized worktops. I keep a good stock off Keku clips and various boxes of screws on the van so why would this be any different?

Just my opinion Cliff, but instead of marketing this product as an alternative to L brackets why not market them as cab fixers/spacers??

do these fittings undo as well, only think in some places they take there kitchens with them when they move so I'm told....

Hi Stretch, was just a thought to get more feedback to put it in the public area aswell so guests could comment too - getting a lot of views, but not so many Clints - please give a short reaction guys.

Thanks for the congrats and the support Stretch - It is a big gamble and that's without the nagging i've had from the missus spending all our savings! I think the reactions are good at the moment and will improve when I've made the video - you guys are the very most experienced in the market and therefore most set in the routines and habits. But nobody's had an objection as such that stands up - all about just how much they will get used, which is fine - very happy with 1 outta 5.

I think you are right in terms of cab "off-stands" (?) too - they are multi-purpose - guys on here have already added to their benefits and i'm sure more will turn up - i think 50p is very doable for handy little doofers - they're not designed to change the world - just handier little doofers.

What about 12 in a bag with the screws at £5.99 inc a free 200mm x 5.5mm drill bit?

Thanks Rasta - bit extreme but - absolutely - with these all the screwheads are inside the cabinet where they should be - so now undo the screws and remove the kitchen - no more leavering units out -

I seem to remember schreiber units had a spacing fitting [pre MFI] but you had to cut them if you scribed the units back,I see yours are adaptable.They worked then so why not in the future.Best of luck.

Thanks fella, absolutely right, the adjustment makes the idea work properly now, shrinkage if scribing, over adjustment if needing shims or even as an off-stand if wanting wider worktop space for granite etc. Thanks for the encouragement.

For diy market inc screws and drill bit, for the pros just the spacers in boxes of say 50. With them being adjustable what size screw you meant to be supplying?

Cliff and Mrs Cliff, i think it looks like a good idea especially the spacing off the wall.

Like others have said usefull to keep on the van for when the opportunity arrises.

Absolutely Right Chip Thanks - been thinking the same - Howdens units would need 120's which is why I was thinking screws too as 120 isn't in a standard selection box, but a lot of higher end stuff would only be 100's which are in our boxes - trade box is on the list! What feels right as a price? I reckon 25 in a box £9.99+vat?

I'm just outside Winchester - but Poole is doable - now just tell me your fitting in an empty house, with a 25 foot square kitchen for the next two weeks and got an inkling to be a movie star!
