B & Q Earth Stone Jig

Hi All

This is very cheeky question! But I'm fitting fitting a new B & Q kitchen and apparently we need an Earth Stone Jig template to cut the curved surface for the island unit.

I've looked on-line and they take over 3 weeks to deliver, does anyone have one that I could loan for half a day. I live in St Leonards.

I thought it was worth a punt!!!

You don't need a jig..............you can form a curve by screwing the base of the router to a batten (bit of timber) and then screwing the batten at the pivot point ie the centre line of the island unit and performing the operation with the worktop face down.

You need to cut from left to right but don't cut all the way through as you will break out on right side.

Are you doing this yourself or have you employed a kitchen fitter? If it's the latter he should be able to work this out for himself.

Stretch the earthstone pre formed edges have to have the jig or you can make one from the edging provided.

it has to be plunged into the nosing to form a curve that is on the edging.
not a diy job, needs a lot of 3 way clamps.
I have two jigs but would only lend them out to someone who knows what they are doing and local.

Doesn't really take a special jig to do this. Anyone with an
accurate tape measure and a sharp pencil could do this with the method I described in my initial reply.

That's why I asked the OP if they were doing it themselves or had hired a proper kitchen fitter
