The problem really is with the sink and not the installers if you ignore the poorly cut corners. It does look bad but it wouldn't have looked that great even if they had followed the line of the smaller sink as well. There would need to be two tight radii very close to each other and I think that may have looked just as bad.
I avoid anything Smeg like the plague. I've read so many articles where they perform poorly in terms of reliability. That is the appliances but I have no reason to believe that they can't be just as inept with sinks. This would seem to back that up.
