Fabulous job Snezza. How does the wiring go to the lights beneath the wall units?

How does the wiring go to the lights beneath the wall units? Thanks Alan The light fittings are a semi-recessed LED type (GX53) 240volt, which come pre-wired with 1.5mtrs of cable. I rout a recessed hole in the bottom of the cabinet, about 14mm deep with an MDF jig that I made , then drill an 8mm hole from the back of the cabinet until it reaches the routed recessed hole. A good steady hand and a long and sharp lip & spur drill bit do the job, then feed the cable through the recessed hole and out of the back of the cabinet. No visible cables. I've been doing my under lights like this for years now, as I have a real pet hate for visible cables under wall units. Snezza.

A brilliant solution Snezza Much better than having to use light pelmet to hide the cables.

A lot of the kitchens that I supply and fit are of a modern style and more often than not, they don't have Cornice/Pelmet. I started hiding the cables in this way by necessity, but now I do it on all my kitchens, even if they do have Light Pelmet. I just think it looks far neater and is worth the extra time it takes to do. Snezza.

I'm, pushing those type of kitchens too. I think the slab door type looks much better without cornice/pelmet and of course theres a cost saving to be had by not having to purchase them

Do you mount the transformers on top or inside the cabs?

I will have a look for a link Kov, but there is no transformer mate...!!!! I buy them in bulk from Hafele ,usually 50/60 at a time. As I said in my previous post, these are 240v mains fittings, no transformer! GX53 Lamp. Here's the fitting http://www.hafele.co.uk/shop/p/lighting-...92243/8164 Here's the lamp http://www.hafele.co.uk/shop/p/lighting-...92165/8175 Lamps are available in Cool white or Warm white to suit the style and colour of the kitchen.
