I like the island, I can understand what Daniel is saying but reckon with the layout of this room an island was the best solution. Had the customer opted for a straight run on both walls the room would have been pretty disjointed and probably quite difficult to use.

nice fit chip, that extra unit is spoiling the run but it is the only place to permanently put the kettle. never known anyone to put there kettle away after use, i know there is a pop up in the island.

No theres a joint you can see in about 1m in from end. Its having a hot cold water dispeser type thing on that unit

Can bearly make out the join when i make the pic bigger, but it must have been a foggy day when you took that picture

They had just swept up. Look on second pic. Its 5mm wide and the tops are not inline on the front. Wasnt impressed myself

what was the overall length of the island piece chip?

Biggest you will ever get out of a Quartz slab is 3m ..... silestone is the only manufacturer who do bigger slabs called 'Jumbos'. I think they only add another 700mm or so and only in certain colours.
