Hi everyone,

Finished this one today for a lovely couple. One of the more difficult jobs I've done for a while. If you can see behind the hob there is a nib of a wall, this used to be a pantry but when we started taking it out we found out before that it was a fire place. The wall the oven is on is 45mm out of level top to bottom leaning back. The electrician has half a day left then the tiler starts next week.

The plinths will be removed the day before the flooring goes down and a plinth seal fitted. The light switch on the right that is on a plastic back box is to be changed to a metal, he didn't have in his van last night and he worked till 9.30 to get the power on so I could test all of the appliances. He's a great lad.




The sink was the existing sink from the old kitchen




I love these Le Mans sets, can't remember the last kitchen I did without them

nice job! but not great planning in all honesty, with a bit more thought you couldve had the hob elsewhere, although it is difficult to see from the pics it couldve gone next to the oven housing.

What are your thoughts on that? I honestly can't get your theory. The oven wall and hob wall are internal so would be at least 5m duct run for the ext.

ok first off 5mtrs is not abnormal for an extractor there are plenty on the market that will cope with that!

secondly youve fitted a gas hob and in pics 3,4 and 8 it looks to be far to close to the wall after the nib kicks in, I could be wrong but thats how it looks! personally idve binned the 300 larder and shifted the oven tower along 100mm, swapped the 1000 bcnr for an 800 with 400 le mans then dumped a 400bu where you have the 300 this wouldve given space for the hob and xtractor also this would allow you to have kept the lightswitch on the wall!
i wasnt knocking the work just thought the hob location was a tad "IFFY".

I might put up a plan of he kitchen tomorrow ( been out out too many wines now) but the run your talking about is 600mm top minimum. The hobnext to the oven in my opinion wouldn't be a good design but I welcome your feedback.

Any one else willing to chip in on this?

Nice job. The hob looks ok there .. however I personally would have suggested that the wall nib should be extended to take in the whole width of the hob and cooker hood. Aesthically it looks wrong and takes your eye away from the kitchen. the nib would only be as tall as the gap between wall unit and worktop and not 800 or so high . What Marc suggests is workable as long as Clints budget can extend to expensive cooker hood as I notice you have a standard integrated hood in place. Just a question .. why are all the end panels not flush with the front of the doors? Is it because they are only that deep and supplied deep enough for scribing.

Morning Phil,

I like that idea, and may go back Monday and suggest it to the customer. The doors have an 8mm chamfer on the front so where possible the end panels are set forward by 10mm.
