Hi everyone,

Really pleased with the way this one turned out as there was a lot to get in and certain parts had to be designed around the ladies height as well as get the dishwasher and fridge in where really they shouldn't fit but all in all it went well and although it was very uncomfortable at the time I should be quite please that the customer started proper crying with joy.



First time I've fitted an external extractor, it fits on the chimney pot on the roof and pulls the waste air through rather than pushes. The contoller/grease filter fits the same as any canopy extractor.



400mm deep wall unit to try and hide the soil stack that's 320mm from the wall.



I designed the fake chimney breast so that it is useable space with opening doors and spice rack draws at the bottom.



There has been posts in the past about how members like to finish there end panels. I prefer this way as if its run staight down to the floor you get an internal corner which collect dirt and will get kicked about.

The range still need to be fitted and the electrician needs to finish but I hope you like. Also obviously the tiling needs to be done.

I welcome any feedback good or bad as there is always different ways to do things.

I've often considered doing BESP's in this way but never really got round to it. They look good so well done.

I took the liberty of saving and re-uploading your pics to the forum's Photobucket account which is set to do an automatic resize so that they dispay correctly.

If you're happy to do so then I'm happy for you to use our account and set up your own folder within the account so that you can access/edit at ease. A few of our members have already done this.

In the time honoured tradition of KFF you've got some Tokens for your efforts and maybe a few more for the finished article - so long as I don't have to do all the editing for you!!

Just one question/comment though:

How high is the chimney? I was always told you couldn't extract vertically more than a few feet. Reason being that 95%+ of what's extracted is steam, which will cool and condense on the ducting as it goes up, resulting in the water running back down & dripping from the extractor body.

style wise i'm not keen personally, but it looks like a bloody awkward job very well done to me

nice kitchen jon. do like the traditional look, the mantle is nice, such a shame the range will be so small in that gap, but like JRB above it is a good use or tight space with all the cust needs.

Must admit I'm not sure on that one Jonathan. I have raised the horizontal solid ducting so it runs away from the filter. The power on the extractor is very very high and is run in 6 inch all the way. I did discuss this in great detail with the extractor supplier and he never mentioned anything about 2 feet, so I suppose only time will tell.

Hi Prem, so do you think the range will be too small for the look? I don't mind honest feedback. I left 200mm either side (150mm is minimium) and the customer had picked a 900 range even before my first visit.
