The 2 real worrying moments that I had were when they were lifting it out of the van and then when they rested it up against the island and folded it up onto the top of the cabinets.

The site manager was waiting to go on holiday and breathed a huge sigh of relief when he saw the top go in, as did I.

I bet the client is going to be over the moon when they see that. Strange thing but I quite like the difference in door colours.

Yes, I know what you mean Daniel, BUT, I was never gonna let that happen. As I said in a previous post, we stayed in constant contact with the Granite company to ensure that we didn't design an island that was too big for one slab of stone.

On this job it was, yes!

Normally, I get the guy who does the templating to mark the template with the position of the power dock, and they do it in their workshop at the same time as the Hob/Downdraft cut-outs, but I wanted to be 100% happy with its position after they had fitted the top, so I got them to drill it on-site this morning.

Im going to keep this on in the memory bank to show my granite guy how it can be done. Most just say its a no no, it will brake. Now i can show them your pic's,
