Snezza, do you have someone who is in your showroom to keep it open while you are out doing all this laboring?
It helps that im f**king useless when it comes to tools and the dirty work. So I can't get tempted to do anything myself. I've just started subbing out my delivery work as well now, as i'm better offer in the showroom than 3 hrs on a Monday morning loading and delivering a job.

At the moment, all my work is on recommendation so potential Clints ring or email first to make an appointment to come in and see me. Obviously, as I am not here all the time, I cant know how many potential Clints are turning up unannounced and finding no one here, but I can barely keep up with the amount of work as it is at the moment, let alone any more. I have spoken to a guy recently who is keen to come and see me with a view to working as a Designer/Salesman. He has a lot of experience but has only ever designed and sold British kitchens. I do'nt imagine it would be that difficult for him ordering from Germany, as it is all code numbers they require and there is no requirement to speak or type in German but he did voice his concerns during our phone conversation. EDIT. I would echo Daniels suggestion as well Mitch. Its not necessarily about getting your hands dirty, but it will definitely give you an insight into some of the day to day challenges that we come across as Fitters.

It's the same old problem "where do you get good reliable labour from" I dont mind ripping out but given the choice i could use my time for better things.
I've been looking for a fitter for a few years to no avail' as im 65 this year and my mate is 64 im finding jobs that would take 4 days to fit a couple of years are now taking 5. |
