There's a mixed bunch of us on here. Some design and sell, others design, sell and fit, others fit!
I do a combination of design, supply and fit, working direct for customers, but do get leads from a couple of builders.
It can be a challenge at the start as you establish yourself, but if you already have contacts and people asking for work, you've got a good start.
Couple of questions for you to consider: would you find it more rewarding being self employed, could you target the people you want to get work in, and have you done the maths to see if you can make it pay?
