yeah thats a good option if he has some edging tape and if he is willing to buy the 9mm MDF.

Personally I dont think that would look an neater than neat silicon line. Its not like the silicon line is going on a filler to wall where it would look really bad however neat it was done. Its going behind a tambour door and the bottom of the cabinet between the worktop and cabinet
