We've finally started constructing the kitchen. Only been waiting 4 months, but it's been worth it.
Having never built a kitchen before personally, and my 'father in law' having never constructed a Crown Imperial, it took us a while to figure it out, but was easy going once we got the hang of it. All in all, it took us about 12 hours to construct the majority of the carcasses. One of the main problems was the cam locks, they never fit first time and end up fiddling around with the lock until it drops in place. We noticed that it seems the recesses in the cabinets for them are too deep, hence why they don't lock into place without a bit of fiddling. Other than that, impressed so far!
The only things we haven't done are a 500 tall larder, and the wall units for the microwave and boiler.
Drawer units ended up getting the lot built together as the fronts had been opened and didn't want them lying around.
I'm sure there are a few things we've maybe done a little wrong, but we'll figure it out. We were quite confused by the 500 drawer, as couldn't figure out why there were only 2 notches for 3 drawers, didn't realise one of the small ones opened from the underside! The vertical handles also baffled us for a while too.
I am aware the back to the oven housing is still there also. I did say we should cut it before installing, but apparently it's just as easy to cut it whilst it's fitted. Not going to argue that one though!
