The retofit ones have a LED driver built in to the bulb, even when taking that power via a normal LV transformer. You could change the transformer to an LED driver in the unit, not done this with a hood before but have done it with plenty of other electrical items and wouldn't have any problem with doing it to an extractor.
Warranty wise i'm not sure anybody really checks, it's not worth their hassle, if they did i'd either swap it back or play dumb.
Here you go... A philips one that requires no transformer change
"Compatible with most existing fixtures with a MR11 holder and designed as a retrofit replacement alternative for 20W halogen lamps. Incorporates Philips patented Intelligent Driver System, which enables broad compatibility with existing electronic and electromagnetic Halogen transformers. Most Halogen transformers require a certain minimum load (~20W or higher) to power the lamp and function properly. This patented electronics solution makes Halogen transformers perceive the Philips MR11 lamp as a normal Halogen lamp to operate normally, while only delivering the required low power to the LED lamp."
