Certainly mate! the product is called Lustrolite.
It's available in 7 or 8 colours I think, 4mm thick Acrylic with a peel off protective cover on front and back. It can be cut with normal tools and is stuck with the manufacturers double sided tape and low modulous silicone.
Here is a link to the UK importer/distibutor, they are called Abacus.

I've got some to fit tommorrow on a kitchen I did last year. the customer has chosen the Red colour. A brave choice, but I think it's going to look stunning. I was going to fit it a few weeks back but Abacus said it was not advisable to cut it up and fit it in low temperatures such as we had a few weeks ago.

I've currently got samples of that on my desk, the reason being one of the distributors has asked us to match the colours on 4mm toughened glass, as it cannot be used behind hobs. Particularly gas, but the manufacturer won't warrant it behind electric hobs either. The idea is that they want us to do the hob sections in glass & then have the rest in the acrylic...
JRB,
It can be used behind an electric or induction hob, but not mounted directly on the worktop. There is supposed to be a short Alluminium spashback fitted first on the wall behind the hob then the Lusrolite panel fitted above it. It sounds to me as though it would look shite TBH, but thats what it says in the fitting instructions. Not too sure about a gas hob, but I imagine that the heat from a direct flame may be too much for the acrylic to stand.
I've just finished a set of these splashbacks today. I will post up some pics so everyone can see what they think.
CR,
Lustrolite measure the degree of toughness in the same way as the hardness of pencil lead.............!!!!!!!!!????????? (Dont ask me why!!!!)
The hardness rating for this stuff is 6H. I had quite a few bits to cut today as you will see from the pics shortly. It does cut nice and clean, but I did buy a specific Festool blade that is designed to cut this type of material. Worth every penny, I have to say!!!
