I like the idea of the sandblasting just wonder about how effective the coating is on it and also the upkeep seeing as it's a surface that by it's very nature gets cleaned alot and harsh chemicals can strip the coating. I know you can maintain them and even re-apply but there is a cost involved. But hey if you want nice things they need looking after.
It's certainly something i'd think about spec'ing but wonder at the downsides involved.
The ritec coating seems to last for several years, I did however advise the customer to avoid harsh cleaning products. Mild detergants should not cause any probs. They were fitted a few months ago and no Clints so far. This was the first time we used this method, before we fitted them I had a sample peice made and messed about to see if it was practicle. It seemed pretty resiliant.
