joint would be fine glued and bolted, the way i have done them in the past is to either glue and dowel or if the end is to be a seemless joint i used my biscuit jointer to get the edges perfect and sand away.
FESTOOL CHEAPER THAN mafell and Doesn't look like an Aldi special.
