Fairly unusual putting combi below main oven. Thats what i thought..... CL was the brains of the team. That rsj must have been a git to work around, the walls just fit in nicely. nice and tidy, did you do the painting?

The tolerance was sufficient PREM Wrote:That rsj must have been a git to work around, the walls just fit in nicely. We didn't do any painting apart from mist coating the new plaster and a mist coat and two top coats on the ceiling which was pulled down, reboarded and skimmed. With the RSJ, we D&Ded plasterboard to the underside at 295mm wide then beaded and flattened off. We then used this RSJ as a datum to build either side of. The wall unit directly underneath is a 720mm medium wall cut down to 660mm plus 20mm of cornice on top. The fascia, which is ABS edged was cut and re-edged to suit. It was a git though....as with all extensions, they are never built true and parallel to existing walls so there was a bit of "manipulation" to get all the wall units screwed together and a lot of finite adjustment on the fascias afterwards to get them level. All worked out well in the end though. I always like a challenge!! Incidentally... another planning/design error. In the first pic of the finished job, the wall unit that hangs to the right of the tower run was supposed to be a 1000 wide. However, due to an error by me the biggest gap we could create was 980mm (and that was without a décor end) so we reduced the wall unit to 950mm and cut and re-edged the RH fascia from 500 to 450. It's all about getting over problems on site as they occur.
