Hi all. New to the forum. Saw this on a search I did about square edge worktop. 10 mm masons mite apparently ? Not butted ? Suddenly got tons of kitchens to do so investing in new plunge saw. Corded or cordless ? Not sure yet. Sure I'll find info on here. ?

Ultimately, you get what you pay for.

Festool do a lot of very good quality tools but I feel the only one that lacks is their plunge saw.

Cheers folks. Was gonna go for the ts55 with 2 rails and extractor and cleaning kit for 758 inc.
maybe a smaller track for sinks ect. Always said I'd only get one if doing lots of kitchens. So I'll dive in.

Why just for kitchens. I use mine loads and im 90% joinery 9% tea drinking a d 1% kitchen fitting

For £80 more you can get the CTL26, a better machine.

The only difference between the midi and the 26 is the capacity now . They used to have less suction but now they're all the same. I find the midi is easily enough for the work I do , cutting up mdf, planing the odd door, routing worktops, and any other woodwork. Its much easier to carry up stairs too

I have both the cordless and corded TS 55. The corded version never gets used so I would go for a cordless. You'll need 2 sets of batteries though.

I've got the bigger CT26 and I wish I had gone for the Midi. It's too big for site work and gets really heavy as the bags fill up. You won't want to be carrying it upstairs very often and you will be cutting indoors once you buy a TS55.

I'm with PJ on the corded vs cordless debate. However if you did that you wouldn't have a dust extractor which will be the most useful tool you own once you hook it up to your existing tools. So I would start with corded and an extractor and maybe get the cordless once you have fully caught the Festool bug. Currently it is still classified as no known cure. Be fully aware and forewarned, it is a disease!

Also be prepared for the hose garage falling apart on your extractor, it's a well known problem as the plastic is rubbish and too brittle.
