The way my supplier packages kitchens from Italy is beyond belief sometimes so its no surprise they get damaged ....... speaking to other people in the same position as me its an industry wide problem from what I can make out.
Sounds like the same situation here with the Spanish !!
Its frustrating as other times they will package certain items very well.
Delivering two kitchens tomorrow and I gurantee I will have at least 3-4 damaged units.
I would'nt say it was industry wide Daniel.
Personally, I think its all down to the transportation company. Some manufacturers use their own transport, others sub the deliveries out to contractors. The German company that I buy from do use another company for deliveries, but have used them for 20 years. They are specifically geared up for cabinet transport. I,m not saying I never get damage, but it is rare. Having said that, I would never expect to have to wait for 6 weeks for replacement damaged items. As they know that they will not get paid until the delivery is properly complete, its in their interest to ensure that the kitchen arrives intact.
Mind you, there is no accounting for the damage that can occur during transportation from your depot to the job site! After all, shit just happens!
