Well one of the best mitre saw I know of is the Festool kapex 120 and I'm sure It will do all you could ever ask for, it's not cheap though.

As for table saw are you sure your not after a rail saw? Have a look at a few and see what you think. The Festool TS55 is a great one

hey any advice is good advice, they are a bit out of our price range but its something to think about in the future, I've personally never used a rail saw before so I think I'll stick with what I know for now.

also what would be the minimum wattage cutting speed etc. we would need to be thinking of bearing in mind that we would mainly be using it to cut MFC?

buy a festool TS75 plunge saw. i have the 55 but if i had known what i know now i'd have bought the 75.
this is buy far one of the best tools i have. i use this all the time and very rarely do i need to carry my bench saw. or use a jigsaw.

To be truly worthy of that dubious accolade though we will need to know more about your addiction. Owning a Kapex is definitely a major symptom and certifies you as Class A user. TS55 users need not worry, it's only the equivalent of smoking the odd bit of weed now and then. You won't necessarily go on to develop a full addiction.

Jon, we are here to help you but you need to admit to yourself that you have a problem. There are other Festool tools indicate that things have got out of hand. Do you own any of the following:

1. OF2200
2. MFT3
3. Any of the drills

Help us to help you and maybe we could all dream of a day when your van is full of Dewalt and Makita tools again all kept in ordinary toolboxes. T-Loc will become a dirty word and you won't feel the need to fiddle with your knobs whilst muttering "Lock, Open, Connect" in a pervy whisper. You can turn your back on crime and become a respected member of society again. Imagine the feeling of freedom you will have when you no longer have to feed your addiction.

I'm personally prepared to help you on this one. I think the Kapex is the biggest problem and I am prepared to make a sacrifice and look after it for you whilst you are in rehab. I'm sure that other members on here would make the same offer. Just remember Jon that you are amongst friends!!!

There are many of us that know how you feel. I haven't turned to crime yet but my addiction has manifested itself in a different way. I'm addicted to Festool clamps. I knew things were bad when the TS55 SYS4 wasn't big enough anymore. Initially I only needed a SYS1 to house my growing collection but before I knew it I needed a SYS2. Just last week I had to have the clamping elements and the ratchet clamps. They are amazing and I get such a rush when I use them but it is short lived and and the comedown is terrible. I feel so worthless and find myself on Ebay with my pants round my ankles drooling over anything Festool. To get a real rush I check the secondhand items box. It has to look and smell dirty!

I'm keeping things in check at the moment but I can't help my feelings of pure unadulterated lust for an OF1400. I fantasise about one even when I am actually using my Dewalt DW625. We have a lot of history together and it has been a trusty reliable friend. I dread to think how it would feel if it found out that I was dreaming of another router when I was actually using it.

Just the other day I found myself doing the kind of mental arithmetic that all addicts are so familiar with. I was in the queue at the Post Office on pension day. I reckoned I needed about £600 for a new OF1400. If each of the old ladies had £50 on them I would only have to mug 12 of them and I could have one. I'm ashamed to admit I even did the maths. I kept it in check though and came home and stroked my DW625 lovingly and felt a massive sense of relief.

I wish I knew when this started as I used to be so proud of my Dewalt kit. I still have all of it, all 10 cordless tools sat in a box in the corner of the garage. I was going to ebay it all so I could buy a Protool PDC18-4 but I have remained strong on that one to date. I know I can't fight it much longer though and will be calling Warren at Bunnys Bolts before you can say "Don't be a muppet, get a life, it's only a drill". After all we all know that a hole's a hole at the end of the day.

Andy you crack me up mate I thought you were right, I do have an addiction but i don't have either an MFT or a OF2200 so I must be ok.

But as soon as the tool fund can afford it though i will get the OF2200 and that will be the last of my Festool collection. So maybe you are right. Unless they bring out something new that is a must have.

I don't see the point of the MFT for a kitchen fitter 95% of the time there isn't room to set it up inside and if you setup outside it'll start raining.

I only have 3 Festool drills T15, CXS, CCD12

I don't want to speak on behalf of other people on here Jon but I don't think I'm the only one that doesn't believe that. Send me the Kapex for safe keeping and next time you buy a tool, get it in B&Q. It won't make you a bad person and it's the first step on the road to recovery. Trust me on this one!
