This email comes from Tim, I suspect that is not his real name because of the way he writes. I think he is Indian "I am therefore wanting to ask the owner of the next door flat to change their cooker hood", all it needs is a little head wiggle. I am surprised that he is not complaining about the smell of bland English food permeating into his apartment. Anyway, poor Tim's flat is about to be sucked up and turned inside out by the Typhoon machine that his neighbour has installed so does anyone think that this is just a case of ventilation intolerance or does poor Tim have the right to demand that his neighbour change his brand new extractor? Has any one a choice of quiet, (or extremely loud machines) that long suffering Tim's neighbour could potentially install?
Hi, I would be very grateful if you could be helping me with something.
The flat next door to mine has recently being refurbished and the cooker, together with a cooker hood, has being installed right against the party wall with my flat. Unfortunately, the extractor fan in the cooker hood is being extremely loud. Whenever my neighbour switches it on, my whole flat vibrates and I can be hearing a low-frequency hum. It is being very unpleasant. I am therefore wanting to ask the owner of the next door flat to change their cooker hood. However, before I do so, I want to find out which is being the quietest cooker hood on the market and if there are any anti-vibration brackets available for attaching the hood to the wall in such a way that very little, if any, vibrations generates get transmitted into the wall. Do you know this information? I would be very grateful if you could let me know. Do you have any other advice you can give me regarding this issue?
Thank you very much.
Kind regards
Tim
