Siemens Ovens with WiFi....!!!

I fitted these 2 ovens this week.......notice the little sticker in the top right-hand corner!!!!!!!

All the guys on-site were asking what it was all about and could'nt believe it when I tried to explain what it was for....!!!!!

   


   

Another sales gimmick.....it will remain to be seen if it catches on.

I have Wi-Fi controls for my central heating which i find realy good but i cant see the point on kitchen appliances imo but if it sells a product go for it.

On the last job i asked if they wanted to wait for the new home connect version to come in to stock as its the same price, the reply was 'I'm really not arsed with all that' and that was from a guy who loves gadgets.

OK fair enough!

I'm not really sure how beneficial it is or if there really is any time saving by putting your oven on before leaving the office.

I agree Kov,....i suppose its the "App" world we live in today. They have fitted WiFi to the Ovens coz they can, personally I do not see the point either !

I'm not sure the Client knows yet that his Ovens have got WiFi facility.....I'll expect a phone call no doubt when he wants me to explain what its for.

I think they will be easier to sell if you have them connected to an iPad in the showroom for example. I was talking to the bosch guy at the crown show the other day and he said that one of the future benefits is that if there is ever a fault with an appliance the app that it is connected to will know immediately, allowing them to contact you about getting an engineer out before you even know it's broken! Not sure how it'll work in practice but it's definitely another perk to selling the stuff and justifying the cost.

As CR said, this is a "No Cost" addition to the range of Ovens. The previous versions of the same Ovens were exactly the same price as these WiFi versions. The previous versions are now no longer available. 
The old stock was probably all purchased by AO.Com and is currently being sold as the latest models .....but at a "Special" reduced price! 

Apparently, Siemens (maybe Bosch & Neff too) are bringing out WiFi versions of the Fridges & Freezers as well......where will it all end...!!!??? That is of course if they decide to continue to carry on supplying us Brexiteers.....!!!!!
