I've been doing another install this week for a bespoke kitchen company. Kitchen supplied by Puddled Duck Kitchens, but made by the company I used to work for, Drew Forsyth & Co.
Main kitchen run:
700 wide gas on glass hob not yet fitted, but it's pretty obvious where it goes! Furniture is just in primer at the moment, but will be painted in an off-white. Some of the furniture will be in an aubergine colour as a contrast (probably the oven housing, or cocktail bar, or both). Probably F&B 'Pelt'.
The whole run is getting on for 6m, so no chance of getting the oak top in a single piece, so it's joined either side of the Belfast sink. Not the greatest idea to have oak round a Belfast IMO; even worse idea to have joints there too, but hey; these designers know what they're doing!
Detail on oak drawer fronts:
The BZP screws in the handles are only temporary; they'll need to be removed for painting, so they'll be put back with the blackened, slotted screws then.
Reverse view:
Fridge housing:
Client doesn't like this - it doesn't frame the fridge properly. Is being replaced with a bigger unit, 200 wide pull-outs either side, and will be flush with front of fridge doors - the opening will be made wider to accommodate the opening of the doors. At least that meant we didn't have to bother fitting the cornice & skirting on this bit!
Oven housing:
Cocktail bar:
Opening in the centre will have a back panel & open shelving.
Utility room:
The floor tiling was done quite badly - it's black slate, but there's massive steps between tiles, hideously-wide grout lines, and some god-awful grout I've not seen before: like jet black coarse sand, held in a sticky goo. Almost like very fine tarmac. Apparently it was put down as a dry mix, brushed in, and then wetted with something. It's set hard in some places, but in most it was still soft. Was (and always will be, probably) a right bastard to keep clean!
Overall, a very long, exhausting fit. Started Tuesday at 8am, and finished early today at 4:30pm (most days were 8am start, 7pm finish!). We also did a run of 5x 750mm wide open shelving units (oak MFC, from a different supplier) in another room too, but I didn't get any pics of that.
Drove 2 hours home, and need a week to recuperate - unfortunately I've got one of my own fits to start at 8am on Monday!
Forgot to mention - the dishwasher was a Neff one, apparently an 'XL' version? Not come across these before. It's a full 870mm high, and the furniture door slides on the d/w door as it drops down. Luckily Dan was fitting it, and not me - he hadn't done one before either. It took him about 2 hours to figure it out, and a lot of swearing...
