The kitchen I am fitting is a Cooke and Lewis (b@Q) Clevedon. Planning on granite worktops needless to say I am not fitting them! I am hoping that my engineering background will stand me in good stead on the installation (lines and levels etc). Doing a rewire before the installation to fit LED down lights and plinth lighting. Fully integrated appliances (AEG). Also I am going to have a go at tiling the floor and backsplash.

I have a few mates who are joiners and builders who I have been taking a lot of advice from and have done a lot of research on the internet but dare say there will be a fair bit of head scratching along the way as I am a bit fussy, particularly with my own work.

The kitchen does not arrive until the 12th May, so I am just stripping walls, and removing tiles ready for the rewire and plasterer at the minute.

I will be thankful for any tips on common pitfalls, and advice along the way.

You'll be fine, there is always someone on here to answer questions. My best piece of advice is measure twice, cut once. If it's expensive measure 3 times, walk away, have a cuppa, come back and measure again and then cut once. You wouldn't catch me cutting a £150 end panel wrong and having to replace it!!
Don't do anything that is a head scratcher late in the day either.
