Evening all.

I have browsed a lot on this forum, and decided it was time to join.

I'm a carpenter from Wiltshire 25yrs old, did my apprentaship with a great general builder local to me, mentoured by an old boy(slow but particular). 4/5 yrs down the line the old boy said to me 'your wasted staying here youngen, go and have a go'. So I went out on my own and never looked back.

I look forward to receiving tips, advice and hope I can give some in return.

Welcome, what percentage of your work is kitchen related ?

Percentage at the moment Is about 25/30%
I fit on average 2/3 a month on site ( Howdens)
The rest of my time is taken 2nd fixing and domestic renovation work.

The site kitchens are pretty good, some have granite and all supplied with Bosch appliances. However... They never put the boilers in units or in a different room and time and time again it ruins the kitchen. That said... I do my best to make them look good

Its good you have a variety of skills, they will be invaluable as time goes by. I have a mate who has only done kitchens, has no trade background. He sometimes comes unstuck with unusual kitchen adaptions or unforeseen problems.

Hi prem, thanks for the kinds words. I've been on a magnets fit yesterday and today, 1st magnets kitchen in 12months. Should get pretty much there tomorrow, will get some photos and see what you think.
