German Kitchen with Boxing and Island Bulkhead. - snezza - 30-07-2018

This is another German True Handless Kitchen with an alcove and Island Bulkhead.
The pictures show the various stages of the build/fit and I'll post pictures of the finished job when it's all completely finished and decorated....

The final 2 pictures show the special plastering trims that were used around the Island bulkhead and around the Alcove.
Its a pre-finished primed alluminium trim about 2mm thick. Its available in quite a few different sizes as you can see in the pictures. It certainly produces nice crisp corners....!  ThumbUp

The Island Bulkhead is getting plastered first thing in the morning. The special light enclosures are pre fitted BEFORE the finish plastering.

Very impressive as usual Snezza.
I fitted a similar kitchen with that vertical profile a few weeks ago and i must admit i was not impressed with the limitations on the grip' especially on the f/freezer
Mind you it was a Wren kitchen Th_ROFLMAO

Hi Snezza

Where do you buy the Aluminium plaster profile?

Haven't seen that before. I usually box around tall banks with 25mm MDF glued and pinned, which is quick enough to do but the butt joints usually crack no matter how much I strap and glue them.

Yeah. Me too. Where's the trim from

I didn't supply the Alloy trims Ricardo & Chip,.....they were supplied by the lighting designer.

I think i still have the wrapping/packaging that the trims came in, so can see if I can get the details of the supplier/manufacturer for you when I'm back on site tomorrow.

One thing the Client told me was,........it aint cheap!!!! It is actually really easy to bend out of shape as well.

Edit. From reading the information on this website, I think this may be the stuff.....

The 2 sizes I used were E50mm and E75mm.

I hope this helps.

Snezza.

Nice set of pics there, one question Snezza from it as you appear to be a nice, tidy clean worker would not have been easier to get a dec in first to at least do all the mistcoating ?

"First"...?  First before what mate ?

The complete room has been painted before I started. The new plastered sections will be all done when the the kitchen is fitted.

Looks great.

Currently got a site where we have a tall bank of 4 units boxed in - but the builder is doing the prep and plaster. I'm sure we'll get there and it wont be square, or the right dims.  Crazy2
