Fitting Another Kitchen - SpikeExeter - 27-11-2017 Hi there, I've been offline for a few years but back now fitting another (benchmarkx) kitchen. My immediate problem is this: in the left hand corner of the kitchen the ceiling drops down to accommodate the stair landing above. The height of the ceiling at this point is almost identical to the height of the oven carcass which is going into the right hand corner where the the ceiling is at full height. So this gives me a problem with hanging the wall cupboards under the dropped ceiling bit as, if I mount them so they line up with the top of the oven carcass, there'll be no room above for the cornice. I think probably the best solution is to reduce the height of the oven carcass and fit a shallow door at the top of the carcass. But it would be nice to get some feedback from you expert fitters! all the best Spike [attachment=2178] RE: Fitting Another Kitchen - Daz Gizmo - 27-11-2017 (27-11-2017, 01:55 PM)SpikeExeter Wrote: Hi there, You may have cut the oven housing down as the oven may require ventilation anyway if it's that tight. Also worth checking if you need to lower the top line that it does not impact on any other tall housings or an extractor if it is a integrated one as it could end up to low over the hob for Gas Safe regs and Appliance Specs etc... RE: Fitting Another Kitchen - SpikeExeter - 27-11-2017 That's a good call about extractor. I think I'm all right with the hob though as it's electric induction and only need 650mm above the hob and I've got about 800 to play with. |
