J Handled kitchen with Corian. - snezza - 26-05-2017

These are the pictures of a British J Handled kitchen I finished a while back. Door finish is Matt White lacquered.

It has Venaro White Corian worktops & upstands that I fabricated myself including the Thermoformed Radii on the ends of the peninsular.
The Corian has got a very subtle veining running through it,.... which hopefully you can see in a few of the close up pictures!

The Sink & Tap are both from Blanco & an ISE Evo 200 Waste Disposal unit also from Blanco.

Ovens, Hob, Hood & Fri/Freezer are all Neff. D/W is from Miele & W/M is from Siemens.

The wooden shelves are veneered oak torsion box construction with a solid oak front & LED ribbon rebated into the underside of the lower shelf.

Flooring is Amtico or Karndean in a Parquet style.

Below are a few pictures showing the drawings I did for the Corian fabrication and a picture of the Peninsular worktop ready to glue in the curved downturns.

Nice work Sir.Snez  ThumbUp

I like the clean lines of the design and the shelving looks great, did you fabricate them yourself ?

I'm not so keen on the curved ends, I think a squared off peninsula would have given a sharper look.

It must be super satisfying fabricating the Corian though when you get a result like that .... how long did it take you to fabricate ?

I didn't make the box shelves myself Daniel, but I did offer to. They are not difficult to make....! The young Chippy who was doing the 2nd fix on the job built them I think. They got their decorator to give them a couple of coats of Danish Oil for finish, but from the amount of splashes all over my worktops, he must have removed the protective sheeting off the worktop whilst applying the oil, then put the sheeting back over the splashes....... Doh  Doh Thankfully, I had left the final polish until the job was at its very end.

The idea of the radius ends was to soften the peninsula as it does protrude into the room a fair way, and as you can see, that is the walk through area of the large room.

One thing's for certain, had that peninsula  been square, it would have made the worktop fabrication far simpler....!

I think it took me about 4 days to cut up, machine & fabricate the worktops, then a Sunday on site to fit & finish them.

I actually really enjoy the challenge of the fabrication, and it is really satisfying when it's all finished.

I thought you were going to say longer than that .... top job mate.

Very nice fit Tim, even Prem might like it, .......as there's no 'Dalek' in sight. I can't even see your space plug shirt anywhere   Wink2

RE: J Handled kitchen with Corian. - snezza - 27-05-2017

.....That's coz they have all faded in colour!!!...I wear them so often that the constant washing has turned them all practically translucent and they don't show a reflection in my pictures anymore.

I will have to call the BigOrangeFella and ask him to send me a couple of new shirts......now that I know you all miss seeing them in my pictures  LOL

I've never worn mine mate. I'd offer to send it to you but unsure if it'll fit you. It's only a medium.
