British Kitchen with Mosaic Tiling. - snezza - 02-05-2017 I finished this one a couple of weeks back. Before. [attachment=1614] [attachment=1615] [attachment=1616] [attachment=1617] The job involved removal of existing kitchen, ceiling, wall tiles & laminate flooring. A new plastered ceiling with LED downlights, additional circuit for Induction Hob, new water & waste pipes for W/M, additional sockets etc. RE: British Kitchen with Mosaic Tiling. - snezza - 02-05-2017 After [attachment=1618] [attachment=1619] [attachment=1620] [attachment=1621] [attachment=1622] [attachment=1623] [attachment=1624] D/W, Ind.Hob, M/W & Oven are all Siemens. The hood is an Elica Mini Om. Sink & Taps are both from Blanco. Flooring is Karndean. I machined & edged all these worktops myself in 2mm PP edging. The worktops are Duropal and the corner radii are 25mm. The doors in front of the W/M & T/D are 650mm wide. These mosaics were a devil of a job to work with as some were really hard and others really soft. Its only a little kitchen but the customer is well pleased. Its the 2nd kitchen I've done for this couple as they sold their previous house and have downsized. I was invited round there yesterday for a cup of tea and to take these pictures now they have completed the decorating. RE: British Kitchen with Mosaic Tiling. - PJK - 02-05-2017 Nice use of the space mate. As much as I like to sell built in microwaves I hate how the ruin the symmetry. Is this the job that had you pulling your hair out when fitting the tiles. I can see why. As much as I like to sell built in microwaves I hate how the ruin the symmetry. It was a squeeze trying to get everything in the room that the Clints wanted. You may have noticed that the worktop on the right of the Oven/Hob run is reduced depth (520mm deep) and then the single drawerpack on the end is deeper (about 650mm) as the lady wanted as much worktop space as possible. it was the only way I could get 2 x Le Mans corner units in. Yes, these tiles were a buggar..!! The dark green ones were like Kryptonite and the brown ones were as soft as biscuits. Edit. i forgot to say the panel above the Elica Om is just a dummy and its there to hide the 150mm ducting. She loves that hood and has had loads of Clints about it from friends & family. RE: British Kitchen with Mosaic Tiling. - Bojangles - 02-05-2017 Nice job and great detail on the worktop edges, did you have to edge the worktops all the way along (no factory edges retained) ? To achieve the 25mm radius did you have to heat the edging? It does make the edging more flexible. RE: British Kitchen with Mosaic Tiling. - PREM - 03-05-2017 Nice fitting Tim as always , Not my cuppa, i take it the couple are elderly...........like yourself Do you do your own karndean? RE: British Kitchen with Mosaic Tiling. - snezza - 03-05-2017 I don't do Karndean, but there is a guy 2 doors up from my Showroom who is a specialist in this type of flooring. This kitchen was almost exactly the same as the one I did for them before. That must be 9 years ago.The first kitchen was done when he retired. RE: British Kitchen with Mosaic Tiling. - Daniel - 03-05-2017 Nice transformation Snezza ..... great use of space to fit all that in |
