One we are finishing up today.... - mister_mitch - 02-12-2016 Just a couple of quick phone picks from one finishing up today. - one snag already, fitter damaged a curved door when packing his tools away A lot of customer influence - very high breakfast bar (i would be 80-100mm lower if it were me) & open shelf thing to the left of the window and then the rest of their decor and wall finishes - all 'unique' customer ideas... A mix of PWS and KTW for doors and panels. Corian tops. Neff appliances, CDA wine coolers IMAGES REMOVED. RE: One we are finishing up today.... - PJK - 02-12-2016 Beautiful RE: One we are finishing up today.... - snezza - 02-12-2016 Very Nice Mitch RE: One we are finishing up today.... - Colour Republic - 03-12-2016 The breakfast bar is way to high like you say. But the kitchen also looks way more expensive than it is. Really like the drinks bar area, that looks impressive. Can't really fault that at all. I'd be very pleased with how it turned out. Shame the kitchen looks better from 'behind the counter' than it does from a guests POV walking in to the room. The view from a chefs perspective is much nicer. But suspect that has a lot to do with the counter height. It's at times like this I wish I put my foot down regardless of who's paying the invoice. BTW I don't mind the open shelves to the L/H of the window. Think I would let that one slide. Or is there something you hate in the flesh? Nice job though mate. Especially the lighting which makes or breaks a project IMO. Thanks for the good feedback RE: One we are finishing up today.... - andy5405 - 03-12-2016 I love the overall look but there is one thing that stands out to me if I'm hyper critical. The woodgrain vinyl doors look messy as there is almost too much detail and variation in them so they don't flow into each other that well. Obviously grain matching is not an option with a door of this type or at this price point but it looks like it could do with it. So in true Strictly style I would like to award you marks out of 10 adopting the persona of the different judges. Daniel is the benchmark here and the only person I would mark as a perfect 40. Rob "I'm from Hove actually" is also worthy of 9's. Starting with Craig: Darling what were you thinking with the BB height, it's your job to save the customers from themselves. I have to also drop 1 point for using vinyl doors. Also CDA is not cool (OK so few other options with wine coolers). The kitchen looks classy but with CDA in the mix it's like meeting a beautiful woman with a Cartier ring and Jimmy Choo shoes and then finding out she is wearing Primark pants. Also leaving a Stanley toolbox in the 1st picture is a big no no. I could have overlooked this one if it was a systainer. So it's a 6 from Craig. Moving on to Darcey: Always scores higher than Craig and scowls at him before awarding a higher mark. Also waffles on about top line a lot. And it is the height of the BB that affects the top line in this kitchen. If you could have just dropped it a little bit everything would have worked so much better. So it's an 8 from Darcey. Moving on to Len: It has to be a 7 as I like the way he says it. And finally Bruno: They fill him full of E's and whizz before every show. As Bruno I'm just looking at the bigger picture and I absolutely love it and the overall effect. The narcotics stop me from spotting any tiny imperfections. So it's a 10 from Bruno. (Don't get too excited, he awarded Ed Balls an 8 one week!) Giving a total score of 31. RE: One we are finishing up today.... - Daniel - 03-12-2016 looks good Mitch .... I like the wine cabinet area, thats pretty classy. I think some of the end panels and curves don't flow very well together, but overall top job mate. Oh and just in case you weren't aware, the breakfast bar is too high !! Thanks Andy, love you to RE: One we are finishing up today.... - mister_mitch - 03-12-2016 (03-12-2016, 05:52 AM)andy5405 Wrote: I love the overall look but there is one thing that stands out to me if I'm hyper critical. We were looking at some nice stained oak veneer. then the customer spotted the KTW doors in our contracts door stand, and that was it decision made :( - price was never the consideration for this customer, just their own taste I know the BBar is too high. Again, customer knows best - no matter how many times you tell them they are wrong. I'll get some toolbox-less pics next year. As these don't even show the bespoke true curve doors on the island very well, and they were a right pain in the arse. I'll take a 31, knowing it would have been higher had I got my way with some of the bits mentioned. RE: One we are finishing up today.... - andy5405 - 03-12-2016 It's worth way more than 31 and better than anything I've ever produced. It is a shame that you couldn't get your own way with the doors and the BB height as that would really have finished it off. |
