German Kitchen & Utility Room with Granite worktops - snezza - 23-05-2016 This is actually very similar to the last one I posted up, slightly different layout with less wall units and the Microwave closer to the Cooking area. Kitchen is by Stormer, door is Como Gloss with Laser edging. Floor tiling is those woodgrain type tiles similar to those that Steve The Fitter was laying the other week. Oven, Gas Hob, Microwave, Tall Integrated Fri/Freezer & D/W are all Siemens (Not supplied by AO.....!!!!), cooker hood is unbranded. I forgot to upload the Utility Room pictures,........I will do it later on!!! RE: German Kitchen & Utility Room with Granite worktops - Joe the chip - 23-05-2016 Very nice Snezza! Looks like a nice tidy fit, what are the dark stripes on the ends of the two plinths? Are they some sort of cap? One thing I always try and avoid is putting a vent in the plinth at the fridge, I usually leave a 20mm gap above the plinth to allow enough airflow, as long as you can't see the gap in your line of sight! You seem to sell a lot of cream gloss with black work tops, is that a popular combination in your area still? People seem to have stopped choosing those colours in my area in favour of greys and whites etc but I still think that the cream and black looks really nice,I think the end customers would love it, and their friends who see it! The only thing I'm not keen on is the lack of end panels, I like the way that they frame doors. RE: German Kitchen & Utility Room with Granite worktops - Stretch - 23-05-2016 Great job as ever Tim. Interesting to see the omission of plant on ends and cornices/light baffles....must be a German thing. All the Alno kitchens I ever installed were supplied with décor matched carcase ends as opposed to plant-ons. Only works with a perfectly plumb wall though. Photography tip: Don't stand in front of reflective surfaces as it just mirrors you...was your Spaceplug T Shirt in the wash this week? Buying tip: Get all your appliances from AO the day before you need them. You'll save £££'s! RE: German Kitchen & Utility Room with Granite worktops - allanp - 23-05-2016 Another stunning fit Snezza! That builder must love you! Is there a boiler behind the three doors to the right of the cooker hood? I'll need to visit a tile showroom to have a look at the woodgrain tiles - I've never seen them in the flesh. RE: German Kitchen & Utility Room with Granite worktops - snezza - 23-05-2016 Hi Joe, The plinth end caps are Stainless Steel coated plastic. The photos make them look black, but they're not! The plinth vent is supplied by the kitchen unit manufacturer and is a generic size. They are not the most attractive thing, but necessary to validate the warranty on the Fri/ Freezer. Bear in mind that these last 2 kitchens were specified by a builder I do a fair amount of kitchens for, so they tend to want to keep the colours and finishes quite middle of the road. As these kitchens were ordered prior to the houses being sold, the purchasers of the houses didn't get any input into the overall colour choices. These kitchens were also specified within a certain budget for each plot, so the addition of plant on panels would have pushed the prices up!! I have a couple of kitchens coming up that are the other end of the spectrum, ......really brave colour choices...!!! RE: German Kitchen & Utility Room with Granite worktops - snezza - 23-05-2016 The show sides on all the cabinets are an exact match to the door finish that is chosen. I did order extra depth show sides on the lhs & rhs of the Fri/Freezer housing (660mm deep) and then cut and scribed them on site to match the walls. That run of cabinets is actually 40 odd mm overdepth due to the odd width of the room. There is no boiler in this kitchen, but there were a load of pipes running down the wall in that corner, hence the boxing and the special width and depth of that small wall unit in the corner (185mm wide). RE: German Kitchen & Utility Room with Granite worktops - PREM - 24-05-2016 Another quality installation, i had to check it wasn't the last kitchen, so alike. Why the gap to the rh side of the fridge? space there for another unit. As I said Ray, these kitchens were spec'd by the builder and originally I drew it up with more wall and base units, including that extra space. But the budget was limited, so I had to remove them. I have given the purchaser of the house my card should they wish to have additional units,....anyway, it will be the perfect place for an R2D2 type bin.. |
