How exactly did you find out about KFF at KBB?

Hi and thank you for the welcome ,  i was speaking with Charlie from Articad and we where chatting about HD rendering and he showed me a design someone had done and shared and it looked great, and he showed me this site and a lot of ones used it to share stuff and chat so here i am lol, really interested in the whole HD and rendering looks super, and everyone is great helping each other out, with little tips and bits, it like the motorbike road racing we do over here and at the TT everyone helps great to see.
new computer is gonna be required i think lol, any one you guys recommend i7 quad processor i think need a complete new system.

This is the site to use to check out processor performance. You will see that there is a huge variation in I7 performance. Scroll down to get to the I7 stuff.

Yeah as Andy mantioned

The Processor is the item to spend the serious money on then a good amount on the GPU. RedSDK (The rendering engine used in Articad) benefits most from it. I asked Redway (The developers of RedSDK) about it as I was beta testing TurboCAD a while ago that uses the same engine as I noticed monitoring the GPU usage it was hardly being taxed:

Subject: RE: Rendering Performance - GPU

Hi Darrel,

during high quality global illumination rendering, the GPU is not used (except for the display feedback and some post-processing stuff). Most is done on the CPU which explains why the GPU load is not that big.

Best regards,
Matthieu

The GPU is used in editing materials for the preview of it, this can be painfully slow on my machine with Glossiness above zero. The GPU will be used more in the future I think so do not skimp to much on this part. GPU rendering is used for "Real Time" renders and I know this will become more useful and require a good GPU to get a good performance in this mode.

Thanks guys for your input much appreicated indeed, yes Daz it was indeed that one, it looks the doggies danglies my good fella, sometime iI will be there lol, i self taught myself to be honest got Articad in 2008 and played around on it  just to get to know it did one training course in 2010 and that was it, being fumbling around on it ever since, as we are manfacturing here to i I never get to spend enough time on it, usually a quick plan and away we go lol.
i designed a few units for a mates garage on it, its not great in render wise cus i did it at the lowest, but have a look guys all Clints welcome, ( be nice lol ), I really enjoy doing the designs and playing around on Articad just need to get better lighting quality and materials sorted,
