Finished product looks good Emo ThumbUp

Just something to think about perhaps for future window cills .... Have you ever thought about having them mitred, they look so much better and it's a really nice finishing detail.

Never considered it on quartz or granite. Would have helped massively on this as we spent 2 hours deciding on sink / tap positioning. I had to trim the front off of the sink to push forward 20mm.

So the guarantee out the window! Hope the abode sinks are decent Cry

Did a mitred and bonded sill / upstand in earthstone on monday though, looked fantastic. My next job is having downturns on the worktop in earthstone, should be a nice kitchen ( I hope ).

Been nice having a few customers willing to go with my ideas lately, not saying I have good ideas

Looks good got those doors to do in jan.

Not to sure on the two ovens I like symmetry.

Did you do the floor also?

.... sorry why would you bother with mitred up stands Emo ? ... from a looks point of view if must surely look the same unless you have an exposed edge, or do Earthstone insist on mitres for bonded up stands ?

Put your glasses on Prem they couldn't be more symmetrical Idea

Yeah I like it,looks goodThumbUp

Only thing I might have done differently is carry the wall units straight to the end on the L/H side rather than a 'L' corner but I know you said you were trying to maximise storage space.

I'm not so sure on the mitred window sill Daniel, I normally prefer it as a slab with an over hang. Although what I try to do if at all possible is to have the window sill in the same thickness as the main worktop (so in this case 30mm) and also have the upstands go to the top edge of the sill rather than running along the bottom edge. All assuming that it doesn't make the upstands look over sized and too chunky, in which case I'd do it as shown.

Re- the ovens and symmetry, I wonder if Prem is referring to the units either side. i.e. the bases look like 400's and the walls 450's. Although again I would do it as Emo Luke has done it and try and close the gap so there wasn't to much fresh air around the hood.

The utility boiler solution seems to have worked wellThumbUp

The customer requested that l corner. It doesn't look out of place but yes I agree could look better without it.

The earthstone upstand and sill was made out of the sink cut out. I was being cheap not buying another length of upstand.

I had my friend tile the floor, we used a light grey grout also. I try to. Avoid bigger floors. Saying that I had to tile a.floor the same size with 60 x 60 tiles. Imo it was an entirely average job I did at best.

The fitter who is know for being picky apparently said it was the best he's seen for a long time.

Looks really nice Luke, well done. How long did it take to peal the film? Is the acrylic soft (scratch easy) when you first peal the film?

RE: Mid grey kitchen - Finshed pictures - emo_luke - 30-10-2015

Film was a pain in the backside ad all four edges have an individual film. I don't peel the film until kitchens done and no longer dusty.

I instruct the customer not to clean doors for 24 hours as they are air curing.

I did scratch a door with the handle somehow. Worse than that I had incorrectly ordered an additional door the same size. Which is in the skip.... balls!
