Latest job so far - emo_luke - 20-10-2015

Here's my latest job I'm on with.

Waiting on black starlight quarty, upstands and hob splashback.

Pinched one of CR's ideas with the corner cabinet, full credit to him!

The finger wagging comes later! I've had the wall cab made 560 deep and as a small blind corner so the storage is quite phenomenal also!

Most of my problem is if I see a space I want to maximise the storage. Its easy to fill the grid with boxes, much harder to make it look nice, have balance and achieve the desired result!

Looks smart ThumbUp

Like the colour, I have used a similar colour a number of times over the years.....I would have probably gone for a lighter top rather than darker, but I look forward to seeing the results.

I've done it a few different ways now

First time I did it I made the blind corner 560 deep (like you have) and whilst it was a huge space it also made that extra space difficult to access through a 300 door.

I've done it a couple of times with a standard 300/350mm deep blind corner but just brought it forward. The issue with that is that it makes fitting awkward.

It's a toss up of giving them maximum space but sometimes awkward, or reducing available space but easier to use. So on a recent one I asked the German manufacturers to make an L shaped corner unit but with one side being extended to 560mm deep. They couldn't understand why the hell I wanted to do it that way, so I gave up trying! So ended up with 2 standard units and a void in the blind corner if you like.

I like the overall look of it but haven't yet decided which one of the 3 above set-ups is the best when it comes to storage.

What kitchen is that if you don't mind me asking and is it 2150 or 1970? As I notice the doors are full height which look niceThumbUp

ECF Acrylic mid grey, the cost of the acrylics have bottomed out so its crazy not to use them. I have used the PWS porters but Ive had alot of them bowing.

The cabs are 1970 tall, its a larder fridge & larder freezer which was a main stipulation they had. Its a big heavy that side but had no other choice I don't think.

I would have liked personally a light grey floor tile and light grey quartz but the customer wants what they want sometimes!

We had to economise on the appliances going with classix Bosch on display, another cut back was a CDA WC600 dishwasher. Quite impressed as it has a few details found on higher end appliances. Internal light and a pullout cutlery tray (Y)
