Nice job Niel, how long did it all take? Doors units appliances? Is the beam in the middle supporting or design, or is it the main house wall. It looks to far back for that.

How do you get your ventilation for the appliances?

Thanks guys,

The beams are structural and by far the biggest and heaviest we have ever fitted. (Will post a pic later)

The Worktops are quartz and are called zevo (the colour)

The job took us 8 weeks from braking ground due to it being a mid terrace and having really bad access.

Th appliance larders are 100mm off the walls to compensate for ventilation.

Pleased with how it turned out but is up their with one of the hardest I've done in terms of physical handling

, although looking again I actually quite like it and assume it was a considered design choice to add something different. Were they a very slim bezel? or do the doors just miss them as they open?

One question about the framing of the units. Do you do this before or after the units go in? Do you skim or tape and joint?

Doing something similar on a current job. Originally I was going to get the Clints builder to put up a wall and bulk head during their part of the works, then thought better of it and said I would do it.

I opted to put the wall up after the base units went in as it was hard to ensure it was square when there was nothing square to work off of. Also opting to tape and joint rather than skim to get more control over dimensions.

The lights are more to do with what works tbh, the bulkhead lights are from hafele and are only protrude by about 1.5mm so works well with the door clearance.

When I'm doing bulkhead I fit the carcases first then the framing, i use 6mm mdf spacer strips to the carcase side and then frame from that, sheet and then skim coat, the 6mm allows for thin coat beads and a skim, leaving a shadow cap and clearance for the doors to open without binding.

I thought I would also share some during pics.

Have you ever considered trimless downlights? Where you plaster them in?

It was hard going, originally aimed for 7 weeks but access slowed us down and it ran into 8, we do full refurbs & extensions.. but only if there is a kitchen in the works.

and yeah, the steel was massive, the two lifts really struggled to raise it.. but a bit if grunting and a few choice words and we got it into place (3 of us)
