Feedback - Cliff1970 - 28-10-2013

Hi guys,

Just put this at the bottom of the last thread but thought about it and probably better to start a new one ThumbUp

Just out of interest, if there was zero cost implication to the price of the unit from your supplier, would you guys be happy to find Space-Plugs free in the box, so to speak, instead of l brackets/stretcher plates? If the feedback on this is good it could make for some very good evidence to show the buyers at the manufacturers.....you want to buy how many? Phone30h

RE: Feedback - jonny round boy - 28-10-2013

I'd definitely be happy to see space-plugs included with the units, but I can't see the manufacturers doing it at zero cost. Maybe some of the higher end ones might, as they could use it as a USP for their product over a competitors, but I think it's unlikely for most.

Not all manufacturers include even L brackets. The ones that do are generally the really small ones that are so thin they bend if you so much as look at them. The cost to them for the brackets wouldn't cover the cost of the big screw for the space plug, let alone the plug itself.

I'd wager that most fitters don't use the supplied brackets anyway (I know I don't) and use their own (or use space-plugs!).

I would be more than happy to find the space plugs together with the units. I now use the space plugs every time rather than the brackets. I'm for one have been converted after using them.
As you say Jonny, I just wonder if the suppliers would do this at zero cost.

Thanks johny - awesome mate ThumbUp

Guys, lets just say, in a perfect world and one where like Baldric, I've got a cunning plan that meant they could come FOC in the box though - would you prefer them and say that's an improvement you would like if possible? Cheers

RE: Feedback - PREM - 29-10-2013

ITS a no brainer that oneDoh

The brackets in all gower units are next to useless like JRB says we dont get them out of the bag they are that badThumbDown.

RE: Feedback - big-all - 29-10-2013

they would be stupid not to swallow the cost
the advertising hype would be something like
" reduced time and easier instalation with the new and unique SPACEPLUGS "

people will choose the boxes with the orange band saying " SPACEPLUGS INCLUDED "

ThumbUpThumbUp

Hi Cliff

just ordered your sample pack, so not seen them in flesh yet! Wonder if the unit flange should have s self adhesive pad ? Not sure if anyone else thinks this is a good idea this is a good idea or not? but it would aid taking out a unit & re-fitting again.
