Hi everybody... - Paul G - 02-10-2013 I'm Paul, For my sins I'm one of those people you all love to hate, a designer. I have been working in the industry about 12 years and stumbled on the forum whilst searching for something else, figured it might be fun and thought what the hell? Work wise I'm at a supply only company based in Havant, Hampshire but I wont divulge who yet for fear of breaching any spam rules! RE: Hi everybody... - Daz Gizmo - 02-10-2013 Welcome Paul I have been a designer for about the last 10 years. Was fitting and manufacturing before. I like you already!! Welcome aboard Paul RE: Hi everybody... - PJK - 02-10-2013 Welcome to the forum Paul RE: Hi everybody... - Daniel - 02-10-2013 Welcome Mr.G ...... we need more designers here RE: Hi everybody... - andy5405 - 03-10-2013 Welcome aboard and I should say I don't hate any designers! I just chose to design my own stuff because so many designers can't do basic maths and seem to think that fitters can work miracles like fitting 2 600 units into a 1150 space. That said I always look enviously at your completed jobs as the design element is always phenomenal. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels like a neanderthal when I compare my designs to yours. Mine all fit extremely well and are very practical but I still aspire to that "je ne sais quoi" that is missing in my designs that you clearly have. RE: Hi everybody... - Cliff1970 - 03-10-2013 Hi Paul, Welcome aboard - you'd of made Stretches hatrick of newbie if you'd just chucked up a load of spam - almost disappointed you didn't I'm hampshire too. For the record I have only ever once expected a fitter to get 3500 mm of units on a wall only 3300 mm long. The 800 drawer pack miraculously changed to 600 I don't know how??? Thanks Andy nice of you to say so. I didn't mean anything by that comment at all, I know a lot of you guys design your own stuff and more power to you as there is nothing better than fitting kitchens to fully understand kitchen design - which is why I used to help my fitters in the early days. I just wanted to make the point that I think all forums benefit from a wider audience sometimes, so its good to have designers, fitters, designer/fitters, neanderthals ... etc ... to all join in |
