Lustrolite Splashbacks. - snezza - 16-04-2013 As mentioned in another thread, below are a few pictures of some Lustrolite wall panelling that I fitted today. [attachment=2084] [attachment=2085] [attachment=2086] [attachment=2087] [attachment=2088] A bold choice of colour, but I think it works. The client was well happy when he came home, so thats all that matters really. Snezza. RE: Lustrolite Splashbacks. - emo_luke - 16-04-2013 Is this stuff better than glass? Obviously I know the fact it can be cut on site is a bonus but I'm sure cost must be about the same as glass? Obviously I know the fact it can be cut on site is a bonus but I'm sure cost must be about the same as glass? I suppose it depends on how much you would pay to have it done in Glass.!!!!! Obviously there is a time saving using this stuff. No waiting for templating or off site fabrication. This one took me 7 1/2 hours from start to finish including unloading and reloading all my tools etc. Luke, i will PM you the trade price of it, so you can compare it with what you think it would cost in Glass. Snezza, RE: Lustrolite Splashbacks. - Daniel - 16-04-2013 uhmmm, that is a bold choice of colour !! From the pictures it looks just like glass ..... do you have to use the tile trim though ? that lets it down quite a bit I think. On a completely seperate note what is the recess in the worktop behind the downdraft ? or is it a reflection from the window. Also those blinds look dreadful. .... as you say though as long as the client is happy - he who pays !! RE: Lustrolite Splashbacks. - snezza - 16-04-2013 (16-04-2013, 08:38 PM)Daniel Wrote: uhmmm, that is a bold choice of colour !! ITS NOT TILE TRIM !!!!!!............ You absolutely cant use tile trim on this stuff as some plastics can react with the Acrylic panel. Its an anodised aluminium trim that is supplied by Lustrolite. They do 5 different profiles for various applications (inside corners, outside corners, end profiles and butt joint profiles) You have to use the profiles on the outside corners as you have to allow for expansion and contraction of the panels. The trims allow for the movement within the profiles. Just had a look at my photos again, the lines in the top are rays of sunshine! I know its been some time since we've seen any, but they are real! Snezza. RE: Lustrolite Splashbacks. - Daniel - 16-04-2013 ..... sorry it looks just like it !! RE: Lustrolite Splashbacks. - snezza - 16-04-2013 Tile trim!!!............. As if I would Daniel!!!!! Snezza. RE: Lustrolite Splashbacks. - Daniel - 16-04-2013 I know I know !! ..... you were so shocked at my tile trim comment you ignored my other question ?? RE: Lustrolite Splashbacks. - snezza - 16-04-2013 Only kidding mate! I suppose it does look a bit like Tile trim, but it has a rebate that allows the trim to fit in front and behind the Acrylic panel. This gives you the float thats needed. What? You mean the lines in the island top? No, I answered that as well. Its rays of sunshine!!!! Or do you mean the blinds??? |
