Holy crap Snezza, seeing that piece with all those clamps attached to it.....would have made me not wanting to look!
Different shape though eh! Adding up the cost of those corner units and all of the items just in the island...makes me wince! Looking very nice though mate! ThumbUp

The 2 real worrying moments that I had were when they were lifting it out of the van and then when they rested it up against the island and folded it up onto the top of the cabinets.Shocked

The site manager was waiting to go on holiday and breathed a huge sigh of relief when he saw the top go in, as did I.Happy

Snezza.

Shocked Now that looks the absolute muts nuts!! Brilliant job Snezza.

Thank you for taking the time to show the close ups of the downdraft unit. I understand how it all works now.

I bet the client is going to be over the moon when they see that. Strange thing but I quite like the difference in door colours.

Jaymo.

Wow that's some piece of granite ..... I know a few granite fitters who would try and duck that with some joints.

Top work ThumbUp

Just a quick one. Was the hole for the pop up socket made on site?

Yes, I know what you mean Daniel, BUT, I was never gonna let that happen. As I said in a previous post, we stayed in constant contact with the Granite company to ensure that we didn't design an island that was too big for one slab of stone.

On this job it was, yes!

Normally, I get the guy who does the templating to mark the template with the position of the power dock, and they do it in their workshop at the same time as the Hob/Downdraft cut-outs, but I wanted to be 100% happy with its position after they had fitted the top, so I got them to drill it on-site this morning.

Im going to keep this on in the memory bank to show my granite guy how it can be done. Most just say its a no no, it will brake. Now i can show them your pic's, Cheers
