Hopefully more manufacturers will jump on board on forums such as this one - its always nice to have a contact in what sometimes seems to be a jungle of departments all blaming someone else!
Also seen that the articad doors package is the same as the manufacturer i use, incomplete and frustrating to work with! Glad i'm not the only one.
Thanks for the welcome Chris,
I'm here for the good and bad and all points in between. I will look into the ArtiCAD issue.
Matt.
PS, I will blame anyone I can find and name

Matt,
don't know why you can't see it, but here it is:
jonny round boy Wrote:I'm fitting a Hoxton job at the moment, and it's likely to be the last one I do. The doors are good, but the accessories are crap.
The end panels used to be veneered MDF, but have recently changed to plain MDF with some kind of cartoon-like fake texture pressed into it, they look shite. And to make things worse, it's only pressed into one side, the other side is plain - which fook me up on this job as I've got to use some end panels to make up 2x open shelf units.
Also, the cornice has almost no flat area at the bottom through which to screw it down.
Add to that the fact that this job is in two colours, and both lots of accessories have been wrapped too soon after spraying, so they have areas where the paint finish is damaged. Luckily I ordered a litre of each paint colour, so at least I can touch in the paintwork afterwards, but it's a job I shouldn't have to do.

Welcome to the forum.
Think you have a few customers on here as ECF's name pops up on a semi-regular basis.
I don't know why but my perception of ECF was always one where you supplied low budget vinyl doors (ala trade mouldings) or poorly edged doors (ala BA comps) but in general I think those that use you here have been fairly complimentary with regards to the quality of your doors. I'm not really sure where my initial perception of ECF came from, it kinda just has but like I say it's from some posts on here which have maybe indicated that's been unfair of me.
Don't worry about it, the more you use us the more you'll like what we do, I'm sure we have come a long way since this initial perception, I wont hold it against you.
Sadly I don't use you guys as component wise i'm fairly well covered via LDL/Crestwood/Hafele and door wise... well I probably have too many suppliers already! Think your name pops up from time to time when a member might be looking for say a very specific colour of say a 'j' profile door. It seems your colour range is a little different to most. Think many of the usual suspects suffer from having a very limited range of colours and when they do offer a paint to order, the quality of finish drops off. Bit like TKC who do a nicely finished silk matt 'J' profile (which they took on from Uber when they went under) but if you ask for a custom colour then the paint quality is just horrible with a rough texture.
We have a lot to offer, visit www.ecf.co and have a look around, all ouf our ranges are bang up to date on there and tehres much more to come. As for Clints we compete with all the companies you mention, some directly and sometime we dont have everything others have, it would be a boring world if we did wouldn't it?
On the subject of 'J' profile doors... One of the doors i've seen on ECF is what looks like a stained veener which looks relatively nice...
But then reading through it seems you don't do this colour. Is that because you stopped doing it? Or is it that you supply the door raw/sanded and you're just showing what could be done to it? Or have I got it completely wrong and this is one of your doors which is painted to order any colour?
This looks like our HOXTON range ASKE door, painted or stained woodgrain veneer detail, take a look at our online ebrochure here http://online.pubhtml5.com/xfgu/gybt/#p=1
Lastly I suppose just an extra bit of feedback. Of course quality and price are always major considerations but next on the list for me when choosing a supplier, is ease or ordering and delivery, in that sense I use LDL a fair amount because of easy online ordering which is next day delivery for orders placed right up to 5pm. Do you guys have any plans to implement online ordering? Or maybe you already do via on online portal I don't know about?
Online ordering, in development so please watch this space, I know all of us need more time and sometimes its difficult on site to breakaway and get stuff done, we know that too.
Anyway as I say welcome to the forum. Hi and thanks for the reply. I've made some comment above, hope it works!
Matt. Hi Colour Republic,
Did you find the product details i advised about when you sent this image through?
http://online.pubhtml5.com/xfgu/gybt/#p=1
Its pages 12-13 on the above link if that helps, you'll need to cut n paste though.
Cheers, Matt.

If I remember rightly your online portel been in delevopment for at least 2 years if not more I carn't see why you don't use the eq softwares ecommerce shop as you could have that up and running in a day.
personally I'm using ecf less due to the lack of stock with no notification from the sales office of discontinued stock it always on the slow boat from china. I don't fit your vinyl doors due to delamination issues.
Plus ecf have drop the disconts on the sensio lighting range of products so thats something else I've now setup up an account with a new suppliers ref the
lighting ranges so no sale there.

Morning WJS,
You are correct, online trading has been too slow in coming but that is being rectified, however you have to trust me on this one as I can see the development in its final stages.
As for EQ, our presence on that platform as 'range catalogues' are fully up to date with the exception of developing and as yet unlaunched ranges, these come online asap once we launch nationally.
Out of stocks and discontinuations are always unfortunate, sometimes they're unavoidable and we do try our best to tell every one wherever we can but I appreciate it can sometimes cause problems.
Sorry you had delam issues, its been a tough time for the industry on that one, we win customers who have had similar experiences with other suppliers, we lose some who get that experience with us. We do have some great new door ranges that are not vinyl, when did you last speak with a TSM? Perhaps I could arrange for them to make contact and go through all the new products we have launched in the recent past.
- For hi gloss slab style vinyl doors, our PHOENIX acrylic MTM range is a perfect alternative, priced to compete
- For vinyl shaker styles, our ITALY range of 5 piece doors fit the bill, with MTM pricing as well
- We have also launched ZENITH, which is a gloss acrylic door with the handle supplied ready to fit into the top/bottom pre grooved door giving a very european look
- Finally, HOXTON our latest painted range, standard sizes only, we offer ranges and a very on trend palette of colours with more to come
As for lighting, we lowered our list pricing on the SENSIO lighting range at the same time time we lowered our discounts structure, this was so that our list price fell in line with SENSIO's so in terms of your net buying price there should not have been a marked difference.
If you'd like to send me your details in a PM please do so and I will arrange for our TSM to make contact and update you in full.
Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine Matt.

Hi Matt
Thanks for popping to see me while I was at the ECF HQ on Thursday, I hope I didn't scare you too much when I mentioned I was on this forum. Going that little extra by showing me the Hoxton panels, after I mentioned reading Johnny's issues was extremely appreciated.
I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Sam about the new stuff you have in the pipeline and she has already delivered on some of my requests.
I would recommend any existing ECF customers go to your TSM and book a factory tour. You will get you questions answered and see how ECF is moving forward within the marketplace. That is what I'm taking from my trip anyway.
