RE: Cooke and Lewis fit - Mbcarpentry - 26-08-2015

Got a late start today but hot well on but the bloody plumbers strike again!! They've ran the heating pipework from the boiler down the back of the intergrated dryer space which is stopping the machine being pushed fully into position, and they've told the client they can't get back until 10 days time to make an alterations so I've given the client the option of switching the 600 draw base and dryer positions to get the job pushed on for them as the granite is supposed to be fitted back end of next week.
So here's where it's at today

Yeah Chippy the plumbers are a real pain in the ass! Like you say sometimes it's just easier to do everything yourself, in this case the client sourced the plumber themselves.
I just picked up the sysroll ( I saw your review on the FOG) just before I started this job I mainly got it for moving stacks of systainers from the van to the job but it's turned out handy for just rolling them from one side of the room to the other as he fit has progressed.

I need to show some of my fitters these images of nice and tidy sites ThumbUp

Looks like a nice fit ..... Any idea how much the client paid for the Cooke and Lewis gear ?

RE: Cooke and Lewis fit - Colour Republic - 26-08-2015

I'm gonna have a stab. 9k for the units, 5k for the granite and 3.9k for the appliances. So 16.9k for supply only, of course that is the sale price only available this week. Normal price is £55k

£9k for Cooke and Lewis units ..... Holy moly do they really go for that kind of price ?

I would never have guessed that high.

What a total ripoff! I hate that cooke and lewis stuff. Hinges are crap quality too!!

RE: Cooke and Lewis fit - Joe the chip - 26-08-2015

I thought they used Blum hinges? Noticed the double bases have no middle leg.

5 k for the granite is a joke! The last time I had a look in there, their granite was very thin and on an mdf sub base.

RE: Cooke and Lewis fit - Mbcarpentry - 26-08-2015

I believe it was just over 13k inc the granite (which was 3.5k) but that didn't include the washing machine, dryer, oven and fridge/freezer which they sourced from elsewhere. I think the carcasses are average trade quality and the soft close hinges, draw boxes and assosiated hardware are s**t, not that I've told the client that! The doors and draw fronts are nice enough but they certainly could have got more for there money.

The 1000mm bases and corner bases do have a middle leg just can't tell from the pics but definitely over priced for what they are.

To be fair all the pics have been taken at the end of the day before I left but I do like to keep my work area tidy as the saying goes "a tidy jobs a happy job" ThumbUp
